Near Kalarrytes, above the gorge of the Kalarrytikos river, at the entrance of the cave of the vertical rock is built one of the most impressive monasteries of Epirus. This is the Monastery of Kipina, which is said to have been named after the gardens cultivated by its monks in the surrounding area.
