Amvrakikos gulf is one of the largest closed gulfs in Greece and is one of the national parks in Greece due to its ecological importance and the environmental pressures it receives. The entrance of the gulf is in the narrow passage between Aktio (from the side of Aitoloakarnania) and Preveza.
