Ancient Nikopolis is located right next to the homonymous community of Nikopolis at the narrowest point of the isthmus of the Preveza peninsula. It was a city of Epirus founded by the Romans in southwestern Epirus near present-day Preveza. Its archeological site is today the largest ancient city in Greece.
